Sanny Winters

Sanny Winters (Antwerp, °1975) creates work grounded in current events and social themes that hold personal significance. With a background in graphic design, she has developed a distinctive visual language in which typography plays a central role: letters become images, and images become letters.

In her autonomous practice, the typographic influence remains, but shifts toward a more abstract visual form, often referencing human traits and behavior.

Her work explores the tension between power, ego, and performance on one hand, and themes such as vulnerability, consolation, and connection on the other. It illustrates how dominant values can diminish when confronted with existential events.

These concepts are translated into large-scale acrylic paintings, characterized by flat surfaces and strong contrasts.
